The Department of English at Bhavan’s Shri A. K. Doshi Mahila College, Jamnagar, organized the Inauguration Ceremony of English Awareness Week - 2025 with great enthusiasm and participation. The event was presided over by Dr. Paresh Banogaria, Principal, Shri D. K. V. Arts and Science College, Jamnagar. The program commenced with a soulful prayer by Ms. Manbai Gadhvi, a first-year student, which set a serene and inspiring tone for the event. This was followed by the ceremonial Lamp Lighting by Dr. Chetnaben Bhensadadiya, Principal of Bhavan’s Shri A. K. Doshi Mahila College, along with the invited dignitaries and faculty members. The lighting of the lamp symbolized the spreading of knowledge and wisdom, marking the beginning of an intellectually enriching week. After the formal inauguration, the celebrations continued with a series of engaging competitions, designed to enhance students' creativity, confidence, and linguistic skills. The activities included: Fancy Dress Competition – Students showcased their talents by dressing up as various characters and spoke on the values and importance of their characters. Dr. Chetnaben Bhensadadiya and Dr. P. R. Rajani served as Jury Members. Singing Competition – Participants mesmerized the audience with melodious renditions, adding a cultural touch to the event. Dr. Kamlesh Desai and Dr. Ketan Dholakia served as Jury Members. Poster Making Competition – Students expressed their artistic skills and creativity by designing posters based on various themes related to English literature and language. Dr. Vipul Kapoor and Prof. Tanvi Pujara served as Jury Members. Traditional Dress Competition – A vibrant display of cultural heritage, where participants adorned traditional attires from different regions and delivered speeches on the traditional values of their attires. Dr. Bhavna Gamit and Dr. Vina Karena served as Jury Members. The event concluded on a note of gratitude, with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Tanvi Pujara, who expressed gratitude to Bhavan’s management and principal for granting permission to organise this event. She also acknowledged the contributions of the dignitaries, faculty members, participants, and students in making the event successful. The Inauguration Ceremony of English Awareness Week 2025 was a grand success, sparking a spirit of learning, creativity, and cultural appreciation among students.
